Our enduring promise amid federal funding cuts & public health threats

The slashing of health funding and elimination of vital jobs across the FDA, CDC, NIH, and CMS create an urgent public health crisis. These cuts threaten the health and well-being of millions, dismantling essential programs that protect communities from infectious disease outbreaks, climate-related health risks, and provide critical health care services for everyone, especially those most vulnerable.

As an organization founded on the principle of "do no harm," we cannot remain silent while harm is being inflicted daily. This administration may erase policies and slash budgets, but it cannot take away the accomplishments we've made or undo the movement we've built.

With or without federal support, we remain committed to mobilizing health care climate action locally, nationally, and globally. We will scale up health sector emissions reduction solutions, expand health care’s leadership in building climate-resilient communities, and restore the critical health infrastructure the current administration is working to dismantle.

Our commitment extends beyond any single administration, and we are in this for the long haul – transforming health care into a driving force for equity and resilience, ensuring sustainable and equitable health systems for generations to come.
