The Washington Legislature made history in early March 2018 as they approved a measure supporting the ban of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from food packaging if safer alternatives were identified by the state’s Department of Ecology. If approved by the governor, this legislative initiative will be the first of its kind in the United States.
Health Care Without Harm supports the removal of toxic PFAS from products wherever possible, given their bioaccumulative and persistent nature.
