Anne Hulick honored with 2025 Charlotte Brody Award for environmental nursing leadership

Health Care Without Harm and the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments annually present the Charlotte Brody Award to a nurse who promotes and protects environmental health.

The 2025 honoree, Anne Hulick, JD, MS, RN, is a leader in educating nurses on the intersection of climate and health. With decades of advocacy, Hulick bridges health care and policy, fighting toxic chemicals like PFAS and promoting environmental justice. Her journey began in hospitals, where she saw the need for sustainable healthcare practices. Now as Connecticut Director of Clean Water Action, Hulick influences legislation, empowers communities, and takes the time to mentor future nurses.

“Nurses have a powerful voice in environmental health,” says Hulick. Whether testifying at the Capitol or speaking to nursing students, she inspires action at every level.
